Machines & technology

What is a pulse laser cleaning machine?

It releases laser energy in very short bursts, each lasting a few billionths of a second. Contaminants absorb the light far better than clean metal, so they heat up, expand and break away, while the base material stays close to room temperature.

What is the difference between pulsed and continuous wave lasers?

Pulsed lasers give the base metal little time to heat, so they suit thin sheet, precision parts and jobs where you keep the primer or anodised layer. Continuous wave removes material faster and costs less per watt, which suits thick rust and heavy coatings on bridges, tanks and hulls if some heat is acceptable.

What does MOPA mean and why does it matter?

Every model runs on a MOPA pulsed fiber source. Pulse width can be tuned independently (2-500 ns here), which is what makes selective cleaning possible: short pulses protect thin substrates, longer ones suit thicker layers.

How long does the laser source last?

The JPT source with Coherent diodes is rated for 100,000 working hours. On two shifts that runs well past a decade. The warranty adds two extra years that cover the source.

How do I choose between air cooling and water cooling?

Intermittent and mobile work favours air cooling: nothing to fill, drain or protect from freezing. Continuous shifts, hot ambient conditions or sustained high power call for water cooling. The high-power model is water-cooled for -20°C to 50°C and 24-hour non-stop work.

Applications

What can a pulse laser remove?

Rust, mill scale, weld oxide, paint and coatings, oil, grease, machining residue, mould release agent and rubber residue. Plastic, glass and composites are workable with short pulses and low heat input, and masonry can be cleaned of soiling, growth and graffiti.

Can it remove paint but keep the primer?

Yes, that layer control is where pulsed cleaning earns its place. By tuning the settings you strip only the topcoat, or clear a coating from a plated part without breaking through the plating. Confirm the settings on your own part with a sample test.

Can I clean moulds without removing them from the press?

Yes. A portable machine from 14 kg lets your team clean tyre and rubber moulds in the press between runs. Vulcanisation residue and release agent lift off while cavity texture and vent holes stay intact.

Can I weld or paint right after laser cleaning?

In most cases yes. The surface is dry, free of oil and oxide, and has a fine texture that helps paint grip. Freshly cleaned steel can flash-rust within hours in a humid workshop, so plan to weld or paint in the same shift, and check whether your coating specification needs a blasted profile.

Can it remove graffiti from wood or stone?

On stone and brick, graffiti comes off without the surface loss blasting causes. On wood, work at low power with short pulses, keep the beam moving, and test a hidden corner first, because wood burns more easily than metal and light timber can darken slightly.

Buying & price

How much does a pulse laser cleaning machine cost?

Our machines start from $8,900 (100-300 W 6-in-1), $11,200 (100-500 W carry case), $15,600 (100-500 W suitcase), $17,900 (100-500 W trolley) and $28,500 (300-2000 W high power). For a quote on your configuration, contact us.

What typical market prices should I expect by power class?

Typical market ranges for pulsed machines: 100 W $3,300-$5,500; 200 W $4,400-$6,700; 300 W $5,600-$11,200; 500 W $12,300-$30,000; 1000 W $26,200-$40,500; 2000 W $28,500-$79,000. These are market ranges, not our quotes.

Why can two machines with the same rated power differ so much in price?

The price is made of the laser source, cooling system, chassis and format, scanning head and optics, control software and safety hardware. The source is usually the largest share. Cooling type, source brand, customisation and the certifications and duties of your destination also widen the gap.

Which power should I choose?

100-300 W suits precision parts, thin layers and non-metals. 300-500 W is the daily workhorse for routine rust and paint. 1000-2000 W is for heavy layers and large areas run across full shifts. Step up when your output is measured per shift rather than per job.

How do I work out running cost and payback?

On the laser side count electricity, protective lens replacement and routine maintenance hours, per square metre. For blasting add media, disposal, masking and clean-down labour; for chemicals add purchase, effluent treatment and PPE. Then include the opportunity cost of downtime, which is often worth more than the consumables you save.

Can I test the machine on my material before buying?

Yes. We run a 10-minute remote sample test on your material, backed by a process parameter library of 100,000+ entries. Send us your material, the contaminant and photos of the part.

Delivery & import

Do you ship to my country?

We have exported to 70+ countries. Tell us the destination and we will confirm the shipping terms for your order.

What is DDP delivery?

DDP means delivered duty paid: the machine arrives at your door and you handle no import paperwork. We offer it to 50+ countries.

Which certifications or duties apply at my destination?

This depends on the country and the machine configuration, and it can widen the price. Tell us where the machine is going when you send your inquiry and we will confirm what applies.

Can I return a machine?

Standard models have a 30-day return policy. Return freight, import costs and depreciation are borne by the buyer. Read the warranty and support page for the full terms.

Can the machine be customised?

OEM/ODM customisation of mechanical, electrical and optical parts is available. Describe what you need through the contact page and we will tell you what is possible.

Warranty & service

What warranty do you give?

3+2 years. The extra 2 years cover the laser source. Free software upgrades for life are included.

What support do I get after delivery?

Lifetime free remote support, 24/7, by email, AI service desk, WhatsApp, WeChat and TeamViewer/AnyDesk. On-site support can reach 130+ countries within 24 hours.

Where are repairs done and with which parts?

We have 15+ laser repair centres worldwide, and repairs use only new original parts. Our contract guarantees no refurbished or second-hand parts, backed by a 10x penalty clause.

Do I pay for software updates?

No. Software upgrades are free for life.

Safety & operation

Is laser cleaning safe?

It is a Class 4 laser process, so it needs proper controls. Operators wear eyewear matched to 1064 nm, fume extraction is used, and the work area is controlled. It is not hazard-free, but with these measures it can be run responsibly.

What protective equipment is required?

Laser eyewear rated for 1064 nm is essential, with fume extraction to collect vapour and fine particles. Follow your site safety rules and the instructions supplied with the machine.

How do I avoid damaging the part?

Damage appears only when power is set too high or the beam stays on one spot too long. Test any new material on an offcut first, start low, keep the beam moving, and raise the settings step by step.

How long does it take to learn to operate?

We do not give a fixed figure, because it depends on the job. A tested parameter set can be repeated by every operator on every shift, and remote support is available for life if questions come up.

Does the machine need regular maintenance?

Cleaning leaves nothing to sweep up and uses no chemicals. Routine upkeep includes replacing the protective lens, which is also counted in running cost. Air-cooled models are maintenance-free in the sense that there is nothing to fill or drain.
